Becoming a member of the
Starlette Company
CLASS PROGRESSIONS:
We are often asked how someone can become a member of the Starlette Company. This is a list of the progression of classes that lead to the company classes! It is typical for a student to spend several years in each level. When a student puts in the work, is dedicated, accepts corrections with grace and acts with respect to all of the teachers and students in the class, they will progress naturally through these steps! Note: it is only BALLET-JAZZ-TAP-MUSICAL THEATER that are part of the Starlette Company. Acro, jazz/acro, hip hop, lyrical and pom are all extra classes. For example: if you are in hip hop only and not studying jazz, you would not move up to the Starlette jazz/hip hop class. |

Requirements to be a member of the Starlettes Jazz, Ballet & Tap Company
Being a member of The Starlettes company will mean that you have made a commitment to your dance, and are willing to make some choices to assure your full participation with the group.
As the company directors we see the requirements being simple and reasonable. They are as follows:
As a member of The Starlettes, you must always be setting an example for the younger dancers at the studio, who will eventually be filling your shoes.
Failing to uphold any of these requests will require a conference between student, director, and parent.
After having read the above requirements, if you feel that you will be able to fulfill them for this dance year, we would love to have you in the company!

As the company directors we see the requirements being simple and reasonable. They are as follows:
- Jazz & Ballet company members will be enrolled in and attend at least one ballet technique class per week. Proper ballet attire is required, jazz slip on shoes are acceptable.
- A company member will have excellent attendance, not missing more than one lesson per term. After any absence, you will be expected to meet with another company member to learn the material you missed. This meeting must take place BEFORE the next lesson.
- A company member will attend any scheduled competitions, as well as attending ALL DRESS REHEARSALS AND RECITALS. NO EXCEPTIONS! You must perform in all dress rehearsals and all recitals to perform AT ALL—you do not get to pick and choose.
- A company member will always come to their lesson prepared and dressed properly.
- A company member will always act respectfully to director, directors’ decisions, and other company members.
- A company member will not ever breach the unwritten copyright of material that is learned and/or used at Rising Star for any other purpose, or at any other studio without express written consent of Director/Owner.
