Dance Shoes

Any students needing dance shoes should plan on attending our fitting session at the studio. Dance shoes will need to be paid for the day of fitting. Please come to the studio where you will be taking your lessons, and don’t forget to wear socks!

For uniformity at performance time, you will need to purchase dance shoes from us.

Fitting Schedule

DeWitt Studio: Monday, August 22nd, 2011, from 5:00pm - 7:30pm
Grand Ledge Studio: Tuesday, August 23rd, 2011, from 5:00pm -7:30pm
Waverly Studio: Wednesday, August 24th, 2011, from 5:00pm - 7:30pm

The Dance Closet: We will have a selection of dance-wear available at our shoe fitting days and throughout the year.  The Dance Closet is located at the Waverly studio.  We will have The Dance Closet On The Road at the Grand Ledge and DeWitt studios!

How to sew Pointe Shoes

  1. Cut ribbon into 4 equal pieces.
  2. Fold heel so that it lies flat against shoe. (illustration #1)
  3. Position the ribbons on the insides of the shoe, just in front of the folds on either side.
  4. Sew the ribbons to the shoe using sewing machine or by hand. Do not sew on the drawstring binding. (illustration #2)
  5. Attach elastic on each side of the back seam. Sew on the inside of the shoe. Do not sew ON the back seam. (illustration #3)
  6. Finish ends of ribbons with Fray-Check, or clear nail polish.
